WHAT TO EXPECT

Consists of 40 multiple choice questions. You must answer at least 32 correctly to pass. A passing knowledge test score is valid for 2 years. This exam will be completed electronically. Tablets are available for use at our office or you may bring your own device

REQUIREMENTS & ELIGIBILITY 

• Must be at least 15-1/2 years old to take the WA State Knowledge Test (or have completed a teen driver's ed course if under 15-1/2)

• Must have a Washington state ID number (Ex: WDL123ABC456)

• Must have a License Express (Lx) account with access to your username and password.

  • Refer to our DOL Resources page for support with signing up for your Lx account

• Bring a valid original photo-ID card document (i.e. Passport, State ID, School ID, Employment Authorization, etc.) 

STUDY MATERIAL

The WA DOL Drivers Guide is the best resource for studying for the Knowledge Test exam. You can access it online or visit your nearest DOL office to get a physical copy.
