Knowledge Test📝

We offer the Knowledge Test in 12 languages. The exam will be done electronically. 

English, Spanish (Español) , Punjabi (ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ), Russian (Русский), Ukrainian (Українська), Arabic ( العربية), Korean (한국어), Japanese (日本語), Traditional Chinese (<中文 ), Chinese Simplified (简体中文), Vietnamese (Tiếng Việt), Tagalog

The test consists of 40 multiple choice questions and you must answer at least 32 of them correctly. 

A passing knowledge test score is valid for 2 years. 

REQUIREMENTS & ELIGIBILITY 

• You must be at least 15-1/2 years old to take the WA State Knowledge Test (or have completed a teen driver's ed course if under 15-1/2)

• You must have a Washington state ID number (Ex: WDL123ABC456)

• You must have a License eXpress (Lx) account with access to your username and password.

• A valid original photo-ID card document (i.e. Passport, State ID, School ID, Employment Authorization) 

• Student must arrive 15 minutes prior to scheduled appointment for registration

The WA DOL Drivers Guide is the best resource for studying for the Knowledge Test exam. You can access it online or visit your nearest DOL office to get a physical copy.
